❖ Yvetta was born in Ala Mhigo shortly before the reign of Mad King Theodoric began. Her family had a long history of defending Ala Mhigo, serving as guards and even fighting in the Autumn War against the other city states of Eorzea. Thus, it was no surprise that upon Theodoric's rise to power, her family defended his actions, even as it become more and more clear that his paranoia was consuming him. Yvetta, coming of age in a time of turmoil, became more and more outraged as the Mad King's actions caused upheaval and bloodshed.However, her family still staunchly defended the king -- she and her father opposing Theodoric, while her mother and elder brother defended the king. This conflict became more and more vicious, both in their home and as the Mad King persecuted others. Finally, Yvetta fled her home and joined with the Crimson Duelists, desperate to put herself to use in resistance to the Mad King's actions. Yvetta, born with an extreme abundance of aether, had an explosive talent with red magic, finally able to put the wellspring of her magic to use.Finally, during the civil war, things came to a head. The chaos led to Yvetta's separation from the Duelists at a critical moment -- the invasion of Garlemald, preying on the instability of the nation. Though she was able to successfully rally a small group of fighters and lead them to a vicious resistance, she was surrounded by Imperial troops as explosions went off in the city, sending the buildings around her into ash and rubble.Yvetta disappeared after this event. Her fellow resistance members and those who saw her in those last moments thought her dead, though in truth she managed to claw out of the rubble with her life and, after learning of the massacre of the other Crimson Duelists, escape Ala Mhigo, fleeing to the south towards the Black Shroud.After these events, Yvetta took to treasure hunting to make ends meet, starting with scrap salvaging and eventually setting her eyes on larger targets, particularly in relatively unexplored ruins. Eventually she would make a name for herself among pirates and treasure hunters due to her willingness to explore even the most dangerous ruins with the lowest chance of survival -- most, however, called her foolhardy for her lack of care for her own life, living so utterly in the moment that she might not live to see the wealth from her exploits.Yvetta continued to travel the realm as a treasure hunter, salvaging Allagan artifacts and other ancient valuables from ruins and bandits, until quite recently, when she settled at the River's Bend Inn. After having met and befriended visitors to the inn, particularly an enigmatic man named Vasant, she has begun to grow attached and value her life more highly, no longer throwing herself at each danger.
